The Clarendon, Chandlers Cross

Wow, there has been serious money spent on this place! The landscaping is amazing, inside is very modern and the smoking area probably the best I've seen (even being a non-smoker).
But is it still a pub? Not sure on that one. I can imagine when it's busy on a Friday night, it would feel more 'restaurant' than pub with not a great deal of area for drinkers. Bar stools all along the bar isn't my cup of tea and this lends it towards more waiter service which is definitely not pub in my book.
Gents toilets are something to behold and I love the artwork dotted about.
It is a cracking concept in it's own right and I look forward to eating there.

The Verulam Arms, St Albans

Visited this pub a few months back on a Monday night. Unfotunately had to send back both a pint of guinness and a pint of lager due to it being hazy. Can't imagine what the real ale would've been like. Decor is nice though and food looked appetising. Shame about the beer considering the reputation of the pub and it's owners.

Holly Bush, St Albans

Absolutely superb traditional pub done how it should be. Immaculate throughout, beer first class. A visit to this gem is thoroughly recommended.
