The Gunmakers, Clerkenwell

Decided to make this a meeting point for some birthday drinks and ended up staying all night. Cracking little pub with great beers, friendly staff who knew there stuff, tasty food and a cool Landlord to boot. Cant recommend this place enoough its ace! Beer in great condition Unfortunately the Harveys ran out just before i got there but made do with the other one who's names slip my memory after about the 4th!

The George and Dragon, Houghton

Under new management!! Just popped in for a light lunch & pint, Both exceptional as are the couple running the establishment. As you all know the pub/views etc are fantastic but now it seems the management and kitchen are up to scratch too. Highly reccommended and i would book too as i can see this place becoming very busy this summer! Marstons have the beer tie but tried both on offer and they were very palatable as was the steak sandwich!

The Duke of Cumberland, Henley

having read the previous review entry I feel duty bound to defend the pub and its ' ridiculously overpriced' food. It may be dear to some but its reflected in the quality. I eat there regularly now and am also aware that such a pub might cease to exist in todays economic climate on beer and bar snack sales alone.
The sunday roast of beef at 17.95 is among the finest you will ever taste and its all locally sourced i.e. not shipped in from South America, if it was it would be half the price.
'the clientele are confined to the polo-playing sloane Range Rover set' - charming comment from rentaquote, hopefully the price's will keep oiks like him away in future. At the very least he is correct about the Langhams beer!

Popped by again recently for a few ales and had some wonderful food too, g/f had the pork belly and i had the coq au vin, both to die for. They have some good looking venison on too i noticed. Had a gander at the newly refurbed back room, good for private parties but the pub is still king, is there a cosier snug of a pub in the area!

The Noahs Ark Inn, Lurgashall

Great location, lovely ambience inside and out and the food is pretty decent too. Perfect for cosying up by one of the open fires in the winter or sprawling out on one of the many benches in the summer whilst watching some truly village cricket.
In summary Good Food, Friendly atmosphere & Good Times

Good News. The Pub is now back on the up. New management/owners and chefs. Menu is non 'gastro' with focus on rustic simplicity and very seasonal.
Wine list and Ales are still fabulous and complement the new menu very well, did i mention great value for money?
I love this pub and will definetely be making a trip back soon, booking though is adviseable for food.
