The Catford Bridge Tavern, Catford

A good little boozer to watch Sky football. Never over crouded so you always seem to get a seat for the game. I like it for a Monday night game and a few pints

Telscombe Tavern, Telscombe Cliffs

Been to this pub on several occasions while visiting relatives in Saltdean. Visits have always been enjoyable and have had several very nice meals in the restaurant with food well above average. Also attended a very well organised quiz night which appeared to be very popular with the locals. Well worth a visit everyone very friendly

The London and Rye, Catford

My lunch time local OK for a cheap pint and the odd leaving do. Agree that there is often a shortage of staff behind the bar but one superb barmaid does the work of three. Tables are often sticky and the whole pub now needs paint and refit. Not sure what the regulars will do when smoking is banned as nearly every punter seems to like a puff.

The Crown, Leaves Green

Went here with relatives for Sunday lunch in Jan 2006. The bar area and beer was ok but very disappointed with the restaurant and service. One of our party did not get their main meal until after everyone else had finished dispite pointing it out to the staff several times. One meal had to be returned as unedable and the supposedly hot deserts were served up unheated. No one to really complain too as the oldest member of staff was about 20 and could only apologies. All in all very unsatisfactory.

The Anchor Inn, Hartfield

Went to this pub for Sunday lunch with my wife and son in Jan 06. Lovely looking little country pub from outside appearing to be frequented by walkers. Small but cosy inside a dozen people in the saloon bar and it feels full. Nice home cooked food but seemed slightly expensive but still value for money. Would probably go back in the summer or stop off on my way down to the Sussex coast.

The Fox and Hounds, Romney Street

Had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch her on 19th Feb 2005. The weather outside was terrible but a warm welcome to be found inside. This pub is in the middle of nowhere and at one point we were not sure if we would find it by road but well worth seeking out A number of walkers were sheltering from the rain and mist and even a carriage and horses pulled up outside. The food was good traditional home cooked pub grub with a good selection of beer. The sea food snacks on the bar were a nice touch. Would definatly go back when the sun is out.
