The Robin Hood Inn, East Wallhouses

Friendly pub and a perfect break on one of the staightest walks Hadrian's wall has to offer. Good real ale and decent food.

Twice Brewed, Hexham

Busy pub because of proximity to the wall but also deservedly so because of the selection of ales and immense servings of decent food...ideal if you've been walking. Accomodation can be noisy and a bit basic.

The Belted Will Inn, Hallbankgate

An excellent selection of beer and vg food...highly recommended.

The Centurion Inn, Walton

More cafe than pub but provides decent food and a welcome break from walking. Would do well to kick out the mobile 'phone users.

The Greyhound Inn, Burgh by Sands

Excellent stop on Hadrian's wall with vg beer and a positive attitude to providing a meal when the restaurant was supposed to be closed. Highly recommended.

The Salutation Inn, Irthington

If you are walking Hadrian's wall and want a good lunch don't bother. It may well be closed and you will have had a 2km diversion.

The Yarbridge Inn, Yarbridge

The Highgate Inn, Highgate

Went for Sunday lunch....no food available and no ale! Just football wall to wall. Left without buying.

The Crab and Lobster, Bembridge

If you want to eat 5 prawns and a sheet of lettuce with no dressing for 7 then this is the place for you. Over rated, overpriced, and sadly over here where I live. Stay away!....from the pub. They failed to deal with the ensuing complaint.
