The Fox Inn, Bury St Edmunds

Arrived here on a busy Friday night, very pleasant pub with a good atmosphere. Good range of GK beers and usually a few guest ales too. The focus is more restaurant than pub. We were asked by the barman if we had a table booked (something that annoys me when all I have asked for is a beer!). Out of hunger and curiosity, we did take up the offer of a table. The food was, as mentioned by other posters on here, very good and also excellent value. Would certainly drop in here again when passing.

The Old Cannon Brewery, Bury St Edmunds

Lovely ales, great food and friendly staff. The interior is has lost some character from the gastropub style makeover since my last visit, but all the other great qualities of this establishment remain. I understand the bedroom accommodation is also of a good quality, this is backed up by them always being fully booked every time I try to book a room!

The Cross Keys, Aldeburgh

From the outside, it looks very appealing. Sadly, the staff were surly and aggressive. The foreign gentleman working behind the bar made my partner and I feel very unwelcome once he found that we had only come in for a drink and not for a meal.

The Butt and Oyster, Chelmondiston

This is one of those pubs that if I'm in the area, I will always make sure I visit. Even out of season this place can get very busy. Grab a table early and you wont be disappointed by the food or the beer served here.

They usually have a wide selection of local ales available, Wherry etc. Just being snapped up by Adnams, so the range is likely to change. Still no bad thing in my opinion!

The Red Lion, Southwold

Nice pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Well kept range of Adnams ales and some superb food; especially the fish and chips. This and the Nelson are two pubs that I never fail to visit when in Southwold.

The Crown, Southwold

Great location, excellent food.

Sadly, the 'Back Bar' is neglected by the staff and you can be waiting an age until one of the waiters pops their head round to see if anyone is waiting.

The staff also don't take the care or time to pour a pint properly, an overfilled pint of froth is all you'll find here. If you want to really enjoy a pint of Adnams then go to any of the tennant pubs in the town.
