I'm certainly not management at this pub and I definitely don't think my writing was dribble.
I like the pub and was writing more out of pleasure that my time spent in the pub was so good. I had a nice weekend, was served by smiley bar staff and yes, although some of the prices were a bit steep it was still a nice pub. And it was a nice surprise.
I had a great time at the beach party and didn't find it cliquey at all. But then I was in the beach party mood. And i thought the effort made was great. Cheap gimmicks are the foam and water sprayed everywhere at other pub parties, and girls dancing in bikinis etc etc (not that that is a bad thing either). It was fun and I enjoyed it. Everyone else there seemed to enjoy it too. I don't think they're trying to be like any other pub in camden, and i rate them for doing what they can within the confines of what they are (as abeachsoul says, a chain pub..).

Staff were really friendly and very efficient. Customer service - 5 gold stars!
Quite small venue which my friend described as 'pokey', but I thought it was quaint and had a nice understated atmosphere.
The bands area out the back is excellent. Had some wicked nights there.
Great pub which often gets overshadowed by the edinboro castle.. Shame though because it's almost better (can't compete with huge beer garden or exotic beers)..

Lovely pub, awesome beer garden, love the fruuli

BUT how slow and rude are the staff. After waiting 15 minutes to be served the first time, the polish girl told us (at 2.40pm) to 'hurry up and order or we'll close the kitchen'. Not five minutes later the menu's were taken from our hands and we were told (despite the signs saying loud and clear that kitchen is open til 3pm) that the kitchen was shut and were 'not allowed to order'.

The second time we went to the bar, the young man kept serving people either side of us, so we mentioned that we were next in line when he got a second. When it came our turn to be served, the young man said 'what do you want then' and proceeded to get our order wrong, 3 TIMES! It's not hard to hear and serve a pint of fruuli, a pint of bellevue kreik and a jug of pimms & lemonade!!

Incredibly slow staff who are also quite rude. Not a good combination. Shame it's the only place around here that sells fruuli!! I won't go back for any other reason!

on a pub crawl through camden one night, we came across this pub and it is definitely the best looking pub around, BUT thats as far as it goes. The bar staff were cold, not unfriendly but didn't give a damn about customer service. Very pricey like most pubs in camden, but at least in other pubs you get service and friendly smiles. Here, you pay for the honour of drinking in this pub..

Oh! Bar, Camden

better during the day. when it's not busy. at all. Then you can actually get served and hopefully the barman won't kick you off the table you've been sitting at for an hour because he wants to eat his staff meal. Hmm.
glasses were filthy and pints were not very nice.
Bar staff have a bit of an attitude problem. Almost seems as if they think it's a privelidge to be served by them.
Didn't appreciate asking for a jug of pimms and being asked 'can you afford it before i make it?'.

Went to their Beach Party on friday night and had a really good time. Staff were dressed up as lifeguards which was cute and everyone was friendly and smiley. They had a great DJ and a great party atmosphere.
Went back again after the festival on sat and it was a very different scene but still a really nice vibe. They had a DJ playing streamed live through the internet and everyone was sitting around chatting and drinking. Very nice pub. Its changed alot and all the better for it. This pub has come a long way in the last few months!! It's definitely the 'best kept pub secret' in camden, and considering it can be hard to find (because it's on the alley parrallel to the high street behind worlds end) it's definitely standing out as a place to go back to again and again!
