Pen Mill Hotel, Yeovil

I went there for a late lunch on the way home from a hospital appointment about two weeks ago, having not visited the place for about 15 years after an Unpleasant Incident!

I was impressed by the very friendly and attentive staff and I liked the food - of course, I wasn't there for a dining experience but we both had the Aberdeen Angus burger with stilton, salad and chips - very nice indeed and very filling; I can't imagine who could cope with the half pounder version. I had a very pleasant glass of shiraz and my daughter had orange juice and lemonade, nicely served. It fulfilled our needs exactly at the time and I would definitely go back again.

The whole experience was diametrically opposite to my last visit!

This is now called the Orange Box; it is a box and is bright orange. It is primarily a music venue and a good one too! but it doesn't have any proper beer only lager.

Babylon Morris will be dancing and performing Mummers play (Father Xmas's sons slain by King George then brought back to life) at 1 o'clock New Year's Day. Gets a bit crowded but that's part of the fun. Good beer, everyone always very friendly
