The Coat and Badge, Putney

This place goes through phases. A few years ago it was fantastic, good beer and atmosphere (although food was expensive). Then it became the wrost pub in Putney, now it is getting better. When its good, its very very good, when its bad....

Very good pub. Decent pint and good selection of vino. Staff are always friendly - although they seem to change very frequently. Food is of a good standard and quite simple. Avoid on match days though as it is a very different place!

The Durell, Fulham

Shocking, shocking shocking! Big open place with 4,843 lights (I counted them). Too bright and cavernous. No atmosphere at all and frequented by slightly over weight former wannnie-be Sloany Ponies. It's just a bit embarassing when you are there and looking for a decent pint in a good pub. Left after two to give it a chance....

Brogans, Fulham

Great fun and very good staff. Go there a couple of times and they make you feel welcome. Guinness is one of the best in West London. Fri & Sat can be very busy because it is free entry and open till 1am. Show most sports including GAA so gets a lot of Irish in there adding to the 'craic.'

The Hand and Raquet, Wimbledon

The only good thing I can say about this pub is that it it was warm. Too smokey, too many staff not doing anything but talking to their friends and the rudest manager in the world. The beer is average (sure the Guinness lines have not been cleaned for a couple of months) and it is not cheap. I never thought I would say this, but it was better as a Hogshead! Avoid at all costs and go to the Alex for a decent pint, less smokey and different rooms to hide away in
