Ye Olde London, St Pauls

I went to this pub last night and was very impressed by the service by the staff. The way the reviews are worded on here it sounds like Tony is rude. I found him to be quite the contrary. I recommend this place and I agree the fish and chips are good.

The Royal Oak, Westminster

A very smart Young's pub with well kept beer. Probably the best in the locality. The landlord is very amiable. Not somewhere to head for but definitely worth a look if you're in Westminster.

The Lamb and Flag, Covent Garden

Superb pub. Always packed on a Friday night during the summer months. I love it

The Barley Mow, Westminster

This is an OK pub in an area of OK pubs. The refit hasn't really changed it that much but it may attracted more people in. Always well staffed though which is a plus point in my book.

The Nell Gwynne, Covent Garden

A national institution. No one should be allowed to knock this place down.

The Cardinal, Victoria

Cheap as chips which is very nice for the poor civil servants that frequent it. However can't drink too much Old Brewery as its not exactly the best ale going. That said there is a good selection of bottled beer that is worth looking at. And for the lager drinker the Ayingerbrau still does the trick!
One of the few pubs in the area that has a dart board. Normally there is someone on it.

The Horseshoe, Clerkenwell

Played darts in here on Tuesday. Nice to see real ale on and the boards were good quality. All in all not a bad pub.

The Perseverance, Holborn

A funny old pub. There are loads of staff but no great urgency to serve anyone. However the Deuchars was pretty good. Didn't dare try the Directors after previous comments.

This pub is not without its charm but it might not be to everyone's taste.

The White Hart, Crystal Palace

Been in there a couple of times now. A vast improvement on O'Neills. The food's pretty good and they have proper old fashioned pint glasses. It is a bit pricey but if you want cheap then go round the corner to the Wetherspoons.
