Coach House Inn, Locking

This was once a good all round eating pub but has now suffered the wrath of the laminated chain establishment menu.
I have no issue with the beer quality but any pub where the food operative(note the word chef is not used) has a tendancy to dive under tables with microwave bell shell shock tends to get a wide berth from me nowdays.

The Britiannia Inn, Weston Super Mare

All the usual strange array of regulars of any small town pub. Decent bar food, excellent beer. Very handy for a decent pint in the interval at the nearby playhouse.(beats queing for 15 minutes for a bottle in the theatre bar)

Lamb Inn, Lower Weare

Nice non chain pub on the A38. Bath ale gem was excellent(cask marque pub-I expect no less). Food fairly good, certainly a better option than the deep fried 'roast' potato establishments on most of the main roads around here.

The Woolpack, St Georges

Nothing but good local reports since It's recent new owners. Needless to say Butcombe's own beers are prominent and were served very well. We had a light lunchtime bite which was freshly made and good value. They are just finishing a large stand alone carvery area. Glad to see they have gone down this route rather than demosishing the original pub interior.

The Old Inn, Clevedon

Does food but still remains a pub. Lovelly beer garden with boule pitch/course/court or whatever it is called.
Nice few real beers on including guest ales.
Happy efficient staff.
Menu fairly basic(mostly with chips and salad) but excellent value and home cooked.

The Pig and Truffle, Weston Super Mare

A pub very much geared to the weekend nightime trade.
Wall to wall MTV, no proper beer, will rustle up a burger and chips of a lunchtime if you need a break from shopping.

The Queen Adelaide, Blagdon

Certainly no problems here. Nice, friendly, family run atmosphere. No frills decor. Excellent pint of guest beer. Good, honest, home-cooked food.

The Harvest Moon, North Newton

Friendly staff with a bit of a 'local' feel in the bar area. Visited outside of cooking time but the menu looked hopeful and the eating area was spacious. Abbot ale was served well. Handy for the canal.

The Nelson Arms, Churchill

Always a few ales on. Good value food. A bit of a conveyor belt approach to orders. Carvery is very good but don't expect too much of the free soup....it's about the right price. Can get a bit crowded.

The Globe Inn, Sampford Peverell

Been here a few times on the way home from Devon. Always good varied food and very attentive staff. Nice walk along the canal from the car park. Great pint of Otter. Bonus last time - happened upon their beer festival weekend.
