Great well kept beer, a comfortable pub with a large non smoking area at the front. It is friendly and welcoming and is one of my favourites. Well worth visiting.

Tired and uninspiring pub. Service is OK, beer reasonable, lacks any kind of atmosphere.You would only come here if desperate for a drink.

Excellent pub well kept beer with a choice of real ales albeit a little pricey. The staff are efficient and friendly, it has a great atmosphere and the food is good. My only minor critism is they allow smoking at the bar which is unpleasant whilst waiting to be served. I wish they would go along with present thinking and ban smoking at the bar then it would be perfect.

It is difficult to find anything positive to say about this pub nowadays. The beer is badly kept and expensive, the pub is dirty and service off hand. In addition they allow smoking at the bar which means you get cigarette smoke blown in your face whilst waiting to be served. It used to be such a nice pub bout it has deteriorated beyond recognition in the past few years.

The Cap in Hand, Hook
A good selection of beers at usual excellent Wetherspoons prices. A large non smoking conservatory although when it gets busy the service is very slow. Used to be superb but has gone down hill slightly over the past 12 months. Still worth visiting if you are a real ale person on a budget.
