The Wine Bar, Twickenham

I went to the 'Gourmet' evening last night, a good idea to brighen up what's normally a quiet Monday evening when not much is happening.

Sampled some of the most delectable wines with a heavenly 5 course dinner which made me feel totally spoiled. The service was top notch, as ever the staff were very friendly and efficient. From what I understand this was their first Gourmet function and would strongly recomend it. I hope they do this again as it wasn't completely full, however have a feeling I may have reaped the benefits as the portion sizes were very generous indeed!

The Old Goat, Fulwell

Having heard mixed reviews I thought I'd give it a go and see for myself. Looks good from the outside and the inside decor is well presented, quite chilled on a Sunday afternoon.

I was disappointed with the roast lamb which was quite fatty and chewy and presented in a simple way with your basic carrots and peas etc (was sure the veg was all frozen). Wouldn't go back for a roast dinner considering the price did not reflect the quality>

It has a nice enough atmosphere and cosy seating etc would suggest popping in to see for yourself but perhaps hold back on the Sunday lunch.

The Wine Bar, Twickenham

Has now re opened as the "Wine Bar'. Now much bigger with the same ambience and ever friendly staff who will tender to your every need if so required. New management in place with a passion for making this place a real success. Tapas and restaurant menu at competitive prices. Have not yet tried the food but having seen it it looks delicious.

Definately a go see and experience and before you know it you'll become a regular I'm sure. Ideal for a night out catching up with friends or a chilled out Sunday afternoon relaxing to some chill out sounds whilst sipping a nice Merlot.

Don't panic! I have from a very good source that Harringtons is due to re open early December. If you enjoyed it before you should find the new Harringtons even better. We've all missed this place and look forward to the re opening!

The King's Arms, Twickenham

This place has really transformed from how it used to be. The new Managers have really turned this place around with new decor and a superb menu. The attention to detail is especially noticeable. The food is always of the best quality having eaten here many times and the bar staff are always friendly and ready to please. Most Thursday's are 'themed' nights with a variety of interesting and enjoyable nights to include recently a Turkish evening with live belly dancer also a moules and frites night with a beer for 5. This pub offers great value and whilst perfect for a quiet beer whilst watching the weekend sport can also offer highly entertaining evenings also!
