The Moon in the Square, Bournemouth

I have never seen any hillbilly people outside of Nashville, Tennessee, certainly not in Dorset!

I went to The Moon this lunchtime; you detractors should climb the stairs, get away from the disgusting smoke on the ground floor, and enjoy Wetherspoons at its best.

Three meals, three drinks and change from 20 quid. And the Spitfire was first-class at only 1.65 per pint. I pay exactly 1 more in a crap hole in North Hampshire.

Staff were warm and friendly (and spoke excellent English being Bournemouth locals.

Can't fault the place!

Bull & Chequers, Woodley

Not a pleasant pub abd DEFINITELY not pleasant clientele.

These yobs regularly damage fences, walls, gardens and cars at neighbouring properties.

Time the management showed a bit of control over how much they serve to customers.

With any luck the police will shut the place down eventually.

The George, Earley

Trapdoor, the game is up!

Every pub you go to is just not good enough for you!

Why not just open the trap and jump through in to the river below? Or give up drinking altogether and do us all a favour?

I enjoy (mostly) my Sunday lunch regularly at The George, have never encountered the "older yob mentality", and really don't know what a "chav" is. It doesn't appear in my dictionary!

You come across as an intolerant "if they don't conform to my way of life, my thinking, my beliefs, then they really aren't worth entertaining" pleb.

Get a life!

The George, Earley

Bit of a disappointment on Sunday evening.

Went, as usual, with She Who Must Be Obeyed, just before 6pm -- staff chabgeover time is 6pm!

The afternoon shift were only interested in going home and the evening shift either hadn't arrived, or, ir they had, weren't up to speed, so we waited an inordinate length of time, both to get served at the bar, and for the food.

That said, the wait, in both cases, was worthwhile; the beer was excellent and the food superb.

I someone shoved a lighted November 5th rocket up the backside of the staff, this could be an excellent pub.

The Prospect Inn, Exeter

Excellent ale and grub! Friendly, helpful staff who apologised profusely because they were busy and food orders were taking five minutes longer than usual.

With all the pretty young things in the bar and out on the waterfront, I really did not notice the lack of barmaids.

Great pub, shame I live so far away.

The George, Earley

Went fairly early on Saturday evening with She-who-must-be-obeyed.

We had the most straightforward items on the menu, Bangers 'n' Mash and Ham, Egg 'n' Chips with a pint of excellent real ale.

All totally superb, could not be faulted, not even the young lady who brought me a second Bangers 'n' Mash.

Thoroughly recommended.

The Morpeth Arms, Pimlico

Used the Morpeth regularly for lunch back in the days when Westminster allowed me to park my coach across the street.

Shame 'cos it's a really friendly place.

I park at Tesco in Kensington these days and use the Britannia Tap in Warwick Road.

Old Don Carlos Irish Tavern, Ciudad Quesada

Been around in different incarnations ever since the Quesada development opened about 20+ years ago.

Lots of traditional old dark Irish wood, great "craic", it just seems a bit strange to have your Murphy's or Bushmills brought to your table by a "camarero".

Last time I was there they even had a one-armed waiter, like the Irish guy in Robin's Nest years ago.

Magical! I love it! But avoid the food......
