The Dundry Inn, Dundry

Visited at lunchtime. Friendly new owner (only there for 9 weeks, apparently, two of them doing up the pub.) Pub certainly smarter than I remember from a few years back - including the loos. Three local real ales on, Bath Gem, Wickwar's B.O.B (neither tried); we liked the Butcombe Bitter we had. A wide range of lunchtime food - presentation, quality & style like a gastropub, but not the prices (two main dishes and a pint and a half for under 20?)

The Lock Keeper, Keynsham

I agree with previous positive comments. Beers on this Saturday lunchtime were St Austell's Tribute (tested and approved) and Bath Ales' Gem as well as their Youngs brews. Food - a range of main dishes at 7.95 upwards; the Homemade Beef & Mixed Bean Chilli was excellent, the Somerset Ham, Egg & Chips was good too. Service quick despite being quite busy. Pleasant and helpful staff, as on previous visits, happy to welcome walkers as well as those dressed more smartly.

The Plume Of Feathers, Rickford

A decent pint, a nice lunch of locally-sourced food and a pleasant welcome - just what we wanted in the middle of a walk.
