Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury

Thoroughly enjoyed this pub on Saturday lunchtime. Yes, it a busy sports bar and it should be reviewed as such, in my opinion. Difficult to beat the choice of draught ales and ciders. 5 or 6 types of traditional cider, including spectacular Cheddar Valley. I ordered a pint of Cheddar Valley and a coronation chicken bap and was relieved of £4-25 in total. Similar story elsewhere in Shrewsbury which has loads of pubs all of which seem to be well frequented - no wonder at those prices.

The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury

Excellent characterful centrally positioned pub. Really good selection of traditional ciders, particularly Old Rosie.

The Black Lion Inn, Hereford

Visited on Friday by chance, before having read any reviews. If it was gay, I didn't notice but then I don't have much of a Gaydar. Pretty good local cider and good choice of baps. Wonderful roaring log fire with comfy sofas. Friendly welcome and good service. Decent pub

The Spread Eagle Inn, Hereford

Popped in early on Friday. Excellent (bottled) mead infused Cathedral cider and fast and friendly service. Good value pub grub. Nicely lit. popular covered garden area. Well worth a visit
