The Orange Tree, Nottingham

Really nice place. not too loud but with the pleasing buzz of conversation. The decor is nice arty without being pretentious plus most of the work is on sale.

went for a quick drink, ended up staying for ages. The cocktails are superb!

The Festival Inn, Trowell

Went on a Friday night and it was a nice little pub for my folks, my sis and her Boyfriend and me and my boyfriend to go for a few drinks. We decided that we would go for Sunday lunch there as it was pretty nice....boy were we in for a shock! We were the only people without 5 screaming kids in tow. The Sunday roast wasn't nice at all although our starters and desserts were lovely! Such a shame that any Pub that's not dingy is over run with kids, surely with a pub so large a children's area should be installed! Swing dancing on a Tuesday is a must!

Up and Under, Nottingham

Tend to go here to watch the Football on the weekend and it's quiet enough to get a seat (thank god!) The bar staff are always friendly and the food is smashing!

Pitcher & Piano, Nottingham

A beautiful conversion of a church, keeping the stained glass windows and awe inspiring architecture but replacing the pews with seating areas. I tend to go during the week as on the weekend it can become packed. The place is beautiful and the height ceilings give it a sense of privacy with live bands in the week and a spectacular cocktail list the price of drinks is acceptable (cheaper then some dives in Nottingham Tantra and coco lounge being just two.)

My boyfriend and I had many apritifs and night caps here and it's always made the evening sparkle - if your girlfriend has never been before take her here mid week for drinks, her face alone will be worth paying slightly over the odds!

Tantra, Nottingham

to Matt - a great place for a first date? You must be joking!

Everytime I have been here it's the same - Girls in mass groups drinking cheap champagne out of mini bottles with straws or cocktails by the pitcher staggering round to anything in trousers saying 'd'ya wan' a dance babe?' before proceeding to squabble amongst themselves like angry seagulls over who looks better in a skirt.
It's a golddiggers delight the only probelm is that they don't realise that the men they think are high class lawyers and accountants are chavs like them who have broke out their one 'court hearing' suit to go on the pull for a 'classy bird.'

The Coco Lounge, Nottingham

Dire! save your money and go to somewhere nice. The staff are snotty and the prices are phenomenal! Keeps afloat by convincing young professionals that they aren't cool unless they spend 7 on a drink (and I'm not talking cocktails, expect to re-mortgage for one of those.) I seen strip clubs with cheaper drinks and had much more class.

Bar Humbug, Nottingham

A nifty well secluded little bar, nice for some early drinks and chilling out on the sofa. Has a great chillout feel with great non-offensive music that complete this modern slick feeling bar.
