The Trafalgar Hotel, Ramsey

Friendly cosy harbourside pub with a good selection of well kept ales.

The Sidings, Castletown

A superb selelction of real ales at an excellent price. One of the best pubs in the Island, no question. Should be rated more hightly on here, in my opinion.

The Cove, Covent Garden

Well at least the full range of ales was on when I returned - and an excellent range it is too, including the fantastic 'Proper Job'. But I think the recent inconsistencies have affected this place's trade big time. Very quiet. The prices probably don't help either! Still a very nice outpost for Kernow ales, when it works... I fear the credit cruch may be squeeze them a bit though if they don't sort out the frequent ale shortages and the prices....

The Cove, Covent Garden

I too visited a couple of weeks ago to find no real ales on. It's a real shame, but I would tend to agree that this place seem to be on the slide...

The Evening Star, Brighton

Undoubtedly one of the best pubs in the country, with some of the best beers. Highly recommended.

The Stag on the River, Eashing

A lovely location, but this pub has some serious problems. We suffered an hour's wait for food on a Sunday lunchtime without explanation. When I politely asked the seriously surly barman about the delay and if he could prioritise the kids' meals I was greeted by the response "What do you want me to do about it?". Well, if he didn't know, how was I going to?

A real shame as the food, when it finally arrived, was actually pretty good. The beer (Hogs Back TEA) was also very well kept.

An unpleasant staff member spoiled our experience, and I doubt we'll hurry back. Sort it out...
