The Brewery Tap, Chester

FATASTIC pub! Always about 8 ales on, including the homebrew. Great venue, but shame not a lot of seating. Best pub in Chester.

The Boot Inn, Willington

Should be a great pub: lovely setting, quite cozy interior, fires often blazing, several nice ales. But unfortunately attracts a right snobby-arogant shooting clientele, beer is pricey, food is STUPIDLY expensive (landlord really rubs it in he is loaded), with very little Veggie, and no dogs allowed - although the landlords nasty dog walks around freely.

The Farmer's Arms, Kelsall

Very friendly pub that serves a range of some good ales very well. Landord will on purpose serve the branded spirits instead of the cheaper ones, so watch out for this naughty practice! New Chinese Restaurant (and takeaway) opened a few weeks ago and food is much better (although more expensive) - if they don't loose your order or serve you the wrong meals! Dogs welcome.

The Morris Dancer, Kelsall

Much better than it used to be - had a very rough clientelle and was a real disappointment. Odd bar layout that awkwardly splits the bar, but otherwise nice interior, with real fire. Generally good selectin of ales, although sometimes dodgy tasting (possibly from not cleaning lines out properly?). New landlord better than previous ones and is making a real go of it, although he does tend to walk around the place checking out every table in turn - can be quite disconcerting! Good food, although not much veggie, but prices have been rising steadily over the months since they introduced the menu. This should stop immediately.

The Helter Skelter, Frodsham

By far the best pub in Frodsham. The Ring O'Bells and Helter Skelter lead the others by miles and miles. Has a very large selection of constantly changing ales from all over the place, all served in over-size glasses, as well as a selection of bottled beers from around the world. Great food, including some lovel veggie dishes. Allows dogs after 9pm, when they stop serving food - shame they don't allow them in earlier as it now has a "proper" restaurant bit upstairs (not been in it though).

The Ring O' Bells, Overton

Great little pub, nice ladlady and staff and friendly locals. Have spent many an enjoyable session in here. Very well kept ales that are frequently changing. Friends love the hearty food, which is reasonably priced, but unfortunately no veggie food - although they will do egg and chips, it's not the same. Dogs welcome so great after a walk along the Sandstone Trail. Second best pub in Frodsham (after Helter Skelter).
