Dead Poets Inn, Holbrook

I had the pleasure of visiting this pub on a visit to a friend who lives in Holbrook.

The choice of beer was excellent and by all accounts rotates regularly. Each of the beers I tried were excellent.

The fire was roaring giving the pub a nice feel, and the staff and locals all seemed very friendly. I will definatly be coming here again when next in Holbrook.

The Lyndhurst, Reading

Nice pub on the outskirts of the town centre. 2 or 3 real ales on and seem to be well kept.

Food is always nice and they have a great free pub quiz on a sunday, which is great for an evenings entertainment.

The Allied Arms, Reading

Great pub in the heart of reading's town centre.

Always got good real ale's on in the form of London Pride and Hullabaloo and usually 2 or 3 other guest real ales.

The pub is quite small but adds to it's charm. In the summer it has simply the best outdoor space of any pub in Reading centre and so is a real gem

Quiz nights are always fun (every other Wednesday) and Jukebox has some classic tunes on.

My only negative as seems is the ever increasing prices for beer which seem way out of line with the prices in other Reading bars, however as others have gone out of business the Allied remains always busy and a firm favorite so I guess they are doing something right.

Nags Head, Reading

This pub is a rare gem. Awesomely kept ales and plenty of them at all times (around 10-12). Ales cycle frequently so there is always variety.

The pub also has many large screens dotted around creating a great atmosphere for sport events etc..

Landlord will occasionally do summer BBQ's and puts on live bands as well as accomodating outside large screen when an event like the world cup would justify.

A credit to Reading and simply one of the best pubs in the UK.
