Offshore 44, Newcastle

back when a pint cost 1.10 during happy hour it was clogged up, so some things never change! & the 'Shore is worth it as the spot to kick off friday nights.. get in early (from 4pm), get a spot sat at the back or in the snug, work thro the cocktail list and you can't go wrong. As for the beer, it never was much to shout about but that wasn't the point, the more you drunk the more you saved!!

The Lonsdale, Jesmond

You can't knock the Lonnie, tucked away from Osborne road with space to chill, have a crack and enjoy a decent beer. Right next to the Metro so a good stop on the way into toon, or to kick the night off reet with a few liveners... Quiz nights are always good crack, & watching the footie there the night England walloped Germany 5-1 was one to remember!!

Crown Posada, Newcastle

aah, the Croon Posada. An oasis in the mess the quay side has become.. long after the demise of the Egypt Cottage and Barley Mo, and since the Cooperage stopped knocking gadgies out with their Owd Rodger, the Crown keeps you faithful to an old style neet on the toon. The only down side is trying to get to the back for a waz, but the well kept ale's are worth it...

The County, Gosforth

This is by far the best pub in the toon for a decent pint. The Directors is 'specially worth a shot, and helgas big jugs keeps you warm during the long cald winters. Guest ales make regular outings on taps kept to be changed more often than the toons' managers in recent years. And for the icing on the cake try a ruby at The Ahad next door... it's the stuff of dreams for any self respectin' real ale and curry lover..
