New licensee has ben there for a while and the whole pub has been re-vamped. It is now brightly decorated in a contemporary theme, with only one small inconspicuous TV screen - a far cry from the football-orientated previous regime. 3 or 4 hand-pumped reals ales are on, from the S & N stable. The food operation operates from 11.00 til 9.00, serving an imaginative menu of fresh home-cooked food at extremely reasonable prices. Sunday roasts are currently 2 for £7.95. Live music features monthly on Saturday nights, and Sunday Lunch is sometimes accompanied by a Jazz Band 4.00 til 7.00 - ring for details. prymestock - 14 Jul 2010 22:22
rarely go in this one, bit of a walk from the white hart and all the times i have made it my gf always asks why we made it in the first place? i haven't been in for a year or so, so i'll see if im dissapointed again soon. fatpet - 1 Nov 2009 12:13
It may be a little untidy compared to the Bull across the way but much more down to earth and friendly. Decent well kept bitters on offer without any fuss made about them. mrBean - 7 Sep 2008 22:46
What a shame that this pub has been slagged off so badly, i go in there to watch city and it is most certainly not a man utd pub. I go on my own sometimes when my hubby is working and i always feel comfortable. I dont think the reports above are a fair assesment at all. I'm sure they got some award for best kept beer.I have never heard a bad word untill i found this site. maisey - 15 Nov 2007 18:02
A bit of a scally pub in the past. Especially when the football is on. Very much a Man U pub too, so I wouldn't advise going in for the derby if you're a blue, however it does have one of those satellite boxes that gets all the foreign channels, so you will usually find that the matches that aren't on anywhere else, are on here. The quality of the draught beer is not great either. It's not that bad, just a bit chavtastic! anonymous - 15 Aug 2007 16:27
