| Flew in from Australia to see the missus who is a scouser and went over to her relatives in Huyton, I am in the navy and hadn't seen her for 4 months. We went for a beer there on a friday at about 8pm and the staff were greatthe beer was fantastic. After a couple of hours we decided to head off and needed a taxi, So I asked a bloke if he knew the number for a cab, He pulled out his mobile and called one for us and also invited us to have a beer with him and his friends while we waited. | Typical old mans pub which is inhabited by the same people daily. Recently refurbished a few years ago it boasts two bars, a pool table and big screens for sports. Weekends can be hit and miss, on occasions Saturday night may have a band on, although more often than not it is empty. Sunday from 1.pm is more lively though and a good days drinking can be had.
