Typical Cheshire food-led village pub; seemed to be hight standards and a decent if not great beer quality. mtaylor40 - 20 Mar 2009 09:44
I dined at this pub today and was very disappointed. I checked when ordering if the chips were real ones and was told yes. When my meal came it was with awful frozen chips. The rest of the meal was very good, why not be truthful and give me the choice to go for a meal that did not include them. Very poor tracynoe - 14 Jun 2008 20:54
The Davenport make the goup i was with extremely welcome, The food was prepared to a very high class and served with equal amount of proffesionalism. the staff we found were warm and friendly and pleasent to the children we had with us, which I'm sure you guys out there with kids will know what i mean, some places almost throw you out when you have kids, but the Devanport staff where Brill. Would I go again, without any doubt and I live 75 miles away!! matter of fact I'm going to make it a regular haunt.Allan diver - 3 Oct 2006 13:56
You can tell a good pub by the state of their toilets! It's true, believe us. Here's a very good example. The Davenport Arms at Marton, nr Macclesfield, is a Free House with good beers. Jenning's 'Crag Rack'went down a treat this weekend with the men in our party. Guiness,in my opinion, was served at just the right temp. and a good selection of wines complimented the good food they serve. A menu to delight most tastes & pockets. Sarah, Ron & their team made us feel very welcome. Caravanners of the rallier type will be excited to know that a good level(ish)well kept field on the grounds with penned livestock to entertain & delight you it is ideal to stay on.Elsan & Water convienently accessed but just a little word of warning it's probably best to use the elan out of pub opening times! jackieandsteven - 31 Jul 2005 22:35
Lovely old farmhouse-style pub. Very well kept beer, including Robinsons' specials. Nice food (lunchtime only). Garden with aviary and kids' climbing things. Other part of garden just picnic tables. Beyond the garden fence/hedge nothing but sheep! syj - 13 Jul 2004 19:55
