Went to this pub last week for the 1st time. A real gem of a proper pub in Gorleston, serving excellent quality ales at fair prices. The landlord was relaxed and friendly and we shall certainly be aiming to go back soon. Yellow_canary - 16 May 2012 10:55
Recently reopened, with an excellent choice of four ales, all in very good condition. Bottled Belgian beers are on sale, for those who like that sort of thing... This pub has been really well refurbished, and is now arguably the best real ale house in the area. biggles221 - 18 Jun 2011 17:36
Very good news and thanks for the info onewhoknows! Just a pity that Adnams- and other regional pubcos like Marstons- are turning their backs on community pubs which can be run successfully and profitably for all concerned edchambers - 23 Aug 2010 21:50
edchambers - it should be open again in 2-3 months - has been bought by a local, who wants to keep it as a 'local' pub. 1WHOKNOWS - 23 Aug 2010 14:04
Adnams have obviously now read my previous review and remembered they don't 'do' traditional pubs any more. Passed yesterday and though the pub is open it is now up for sale. Would be nice if it was bought by someone who wants to continue running it as a pub as it's one of Gorleston's hidden treasures, a quality community pub for locals not visitors. edchambers - 3 Mar 2010 21:52
