lenny- the reason there are so many cockneys in the pub is beacause it's in the middle of sodding bethnal green. Its's a decent enough pub, friendly staff had a mad fella in there last time who had just got out of hospital after having a pacemaker fitted and was drinking champaigne and went off with a brass bowhammer - 1 Jul 2010 15:54
the cornwallis is the cornwallis!no frills-take it or leave it--mature crowd always up for conversation-you may not get many high flier types here but at least they are genuine and sincere and wear their hearts on their sleeves-this nations mps could learn a lot from the customers here--beer is decent--over friendly dog tho beware.. mother123 - 4 Apr 2010 17:38
This pub was full of more ‘Cockney’ stereotypes than a Guy Richie movie, but not in a good way. All of the older gents walk around with their shirts undone, but without the medallion. The rest of the clientele are wearing tracksuits. All very odd. There is still a distinct lack of real ale and I really did not like the atmosphere, which came across as a bit of ‘who are these people we don’t know walking into our pub’. I really cannot think of a reason why I would ever want to go to this pub again. Not recommended. LennyBanter - 1 Sep 2008 12:33
I can't give any pub that doesn't have real ale higher than a 6 (unless it's a specialist place which does Dutch or Belgian beers), but here at least they had Grolsch which was good. There doesn't seem to be a lot of ale around Bethnal Green, or if there is, I haven't found it yet. beeronaut - 6 Sep 2006 11:26
