Went there recently for lunch and sat in the garden at the back which was nice with views across the fields and hills. Inside its been done up in a fairly modern style and quite large. There was Harveys on tap but was driving so had to give it a miss. The staff were friendly.

The menu was tempting with lots of lighter meals, sandwiches, burgers, salads and the usual fayre. The specials board was mainly fish based so I opted for the cod in a lobster sauce with asparagus - cost nearly 14. I asked if I need to order any sides and was told that it would be enough. It came on a large plate but was a very small piece of fish - the sauce was weak and insipid. There were a few chopped up new potatoes and some asparagus - I ate it within minutes and was still hungry. I thought this was a very average meal that was not worth the price.

I opted for the cheese board to quell my hunger and asked if I could have some crusty bread instead of biscuits - was told that they didn't have that kind of bread (??).

My friends meals were ok although they said the burger was average and didn't taste of much.

I think this pub is nicer if you sit outside on a warm day as its rather souless inside in an 80's kind of way. Food was over-priced but service friendly.

Okay, not sure where to start because as per previous post it is a little strange! As you walk in it looks a bit like the entrance to a sports hall, but once you get to the bar and restaurant area it looks much better. We opted to dine and were given menu's which we ordered from. Later, as we were finishing, another table were given menu's but with a set menu option we were not advised of which is not good. The food was good and not great, but it was nicely presented and was hot, and for the price I suppose it was about average. The beer was London Pride or Harvey's and seemed pretty well kept and overall the drinks and meal were not bad value compared to some of the other places in this affluent area.

Strange place Edwards ! It's neither Gastro or Pub.

Decor is redolescent of a 1970's care home with hundreds of lights giving off an incredible heat, even on a hot summers day...would love to see the electricity bill.

That said, they serve a decent pint of London Pride, but I haven't tried the food recently as the grub on the plate looks a bit dated and institutionalised.

Do these people who own places like this ever visit other pubs to see what's happening out there. Could do with a major makeover !

Very much a restaurant, but with a few plain tables in front of the bar for those with the temerity to answer "no" to the inevitable "are we dining today, sir?" question. Having said that, I gradually realised it had quite a relaxed atmosphere once I was sat down with my pint of Harveys (one of two real ales on offer - the other being Pride). Quite good mixture of old and modern, decor-wise, and friendly enough.

My boyfriend & I took my mother and her partner here for her birthday, the service was fantastic the restaurant formal but not overly and the food was quite good.
I say quite as the foods presentation was very good but it wasnt the best food i have tasted for the price.
I had a pork stuffed with apricot and cheese in pastry and could not finish it as it was far too rich and the pork was pretty poor..however my family enjoyed their meal so i may have just been unlucky!
Over all i'd say worth trying.
