| My boyfriend & I took my mother and her partner here for her birthday, the service was fantastic the restaurant formal but not overly and the food was quite good. I say quite as the foods presentation was very good but it wasnt the best food i have tasted for the price. I had a pork stuffed with apricot and cheese in pastry and could not finish it as it was far too rich and the pork was pretty poor..however my family enjoyed their meal so i may have just been unlucky! | Edward works hard - does he have other staff? - 8.00 table and we finished at midnight - We were 8 -Service was slow but did not spoil our evening. House wine is very poor - Starters looked OK when they arrived everyone said they liked what they had - Soup was good but massive (no need) - Mains arrived and were good - One said his Haddock was "the best he had ever had" Everyone ate everything but vegeatbles were absent and I do not quite understand allmost ALL dishes served on a bed of mash potatoes! but then mine host is Irish! - Coffee & Irish Coffee looked good but no mint chocs which would have been nice but we only paid £35 per head incl food, wine,coffee & tip so really not bad at all.
