Read the reviews from bottom to top to get a sad history of this pub. Used to be a great place but last time I went it was populated by drunk fat birds with their kids in pushchairs and their skinhead "partners" with their shirts off. Avoid.

I also agree with the 'chav' comment. A while ago it was a lovely gay friendly pub full of friendly folk. Now it seems that, with the exception of the charming bar staff, seem fill to bursting point with the scum of Grays.

I agree with the last comment posted. I went there a few years ago and it was a lovely friendly pub. I revisited it a few weeks ago and found that it has gone down hill. V. chavvy pub.

Nice staff shame about the excess of chavs. my one visit was one visit too many. NEVER AGAIN. there was fights, swearing a plenty, girating chavetts and enough burberry to clothe an entire third world counrty.

my local pub , the bar staff are excellent , the beer is a little bit ropey at times but cant complain , the food is good and cheap , bit of a bugger to get to but now in the afternoon peak hours there is a little bus which runs rounds the estate from grays station which is 70p saves a walk in the wet .
lovely pub in the summer you can sit out by the wall and watch the boats plough up n down the thames , if you hear anything about this being a "gay" pub take no notice , its "gay and lesbian friendly" as i was told by jasmine the barmaid , excellent friendly people both locals and staff
