Unlike a lot of real ale aficionados, I have always been a big fan of Greene King, and the beers here are nice examples of how good GK can get. We had a class reunion here. Service was quick and cheerful and it made for a nice environment to meet with my old friends.

I will try not to let a bad date affect my review of this pub! My date appeared uninterested after a few minutes but the beer was nice and it was a nice summer evening in the beer garden. My second visit was where I'd organised this as the first stop on a pub crawl when it was a bit quieter but the staff were friendly and there was a good selection of new beers available to try which went down well.

Went in here a Saturday afternoon in March and found it to be a very pleasant experience.Good range of real ales (unusual for a Greene King pub).An intresting mix of people, young & old, male & female, local & student which sadly seems to be getting rarer these days.Nice decor with lots of intresting -looking pictures. My 2 companions were very politely asked for id as they are both young looking, good to see such dilligence and they even let one of them stay and just drink orange juice when he couldn't produce id.Will certainly pop in next time i am in Oxford.

In contrast to the Jericho Tavern next door, this is a fairly proper honest-to-goodness pub, attracting a wider range of clientele. It's a GK house with an above average beer selection - 5 handpumps, serving a decent selection from the GK ouvre, plus a guest or two. Beer condition has always been good in my experience. The pub layout is good - a large central bar area, with well thought out array of tables and seating, with plenty of scope for privacy or interaction with the other pub goers.

Not outstanding, but very solid all the same.

Very busy, very "commercially" aimed "clone" pub with no "unique" atmosphere but they do have a good selection of beers and the establishment is well run.
