As mentioned below, only two of the five hand pumps are being used and they are still dispensing London Pride and Courage Best. There is also a selection of standard draught available from the barmaid who did well to crack a smile as it was empty during my visit apart from a couple of old timers sitting near the front window. The pub has Sky and Setanta which is shown on some plasma screens stretching the length of this long thin pub and there is a small storage type area out the back for smoking.

This place is ok for a very quiet pint, but I did get a little irritated with the sound being on for the football and the horse racing as my brain started to ache.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink here again, but I would maybe pop in if passing.

Now renamed as ‘The Three Wishes’. Saw this place described in local Enfield listings as a traditional pub with an older crowd, which just about sums it up.
It was a poor ‘spoons before and this is definitely a better incarnation.
Whereas the On Broadway a couple of doors away is set up for the younger demographic the Three Wishes is aligned to their parents and grand parents.
More traditional type décor and surprised to read below that the carpet was new for the refurb as I would have thought Axminster would have lost the pattern for this one a long time ago.
I am assured by friends of mine who have visited on a few occasions that it is now run by a landlord and landlady who care about their clientele. And I can say that when I visited on Saturday night for the first time, the service and friendliness of the bar staff (which included the landlady I believe) was very good. The ale choice of Courage Best and London Pride wasn’t the most inspiring but both were kept well. There’s usually some form of musical entertainment on a Saturday night and I’m reliably informed that the Elvis Impersonator evening is a good one to go to, if you’re into that sort of thing..

Now Reopened went in for a quick pint last night. Its not to bad still looks & smells very clean new carpet paint etc. At least its not full of chaves & kids like the bar on the corner. Seems nice & friendly with polite staff & customers.

ok for a quiet drink - but i do mean quiet, more often it's somnolent, with an elderly clientele. very good value prices though
