I have always found the staff here to be very friendly here yes some of the locals can be a bit cliquey but where is the pub anywhere that is not like this! I have been going there on and off for 7 years especially more recently because of the VERY GOOD THAI ORCHID restaurant next door The Pub used to have live music there and it was really good but now has tried to change it's image 50/50 on whether this is an improvement or not The creepy Irish bar man/throwback referred to in previous posts has now gone and yes he did he have a roving eye to say the least and he did make comments about some of the women that frequented The Miners that would be not well received by the people the comments were made about. xx69xx - 14 Feb 2008 19:38

You know how some "locals" pubs remind you of Phoenix Nights a bit? Well this one doesn't. You just feel that you're in imminent danger of being stabbed. And the throwback behind the bar? Well put it this way. I could hear Duelling Banjos. :-0 Doyenne - 11 Dec 2007 22:01
Only noticed the London Pride of the ales on draught. Like a typical pub in so many ways, found the way the soap in the lavatories has a very creamy texture to it aleman - 20 Jun 2007 07:10
This is quite a nice place. It's my local. I only come to The Miners when my bf can come too. I'd come here a lot more often if it wasn't for the creepy Irish barman leering at any woman between 15 & 50. anonymous - 9 Apr 2006 19:17
