I used to travel in to London to see the bands here and met people from all over the world. Another part of our heritage lost forever.

Hideous paint job and gigantic picture of Pete Doherty cursed this pub, it is now a goth shop or something. Other pubs beware!

Disgracful.
As has been said below.
before we know it we will all be drinking in yates, wetherspoons and other such crap chain pubs.

How can a pub so steeped in music tradition be turned into a fucking clothes shop? This in an area famous for its music/ alternative heritage, absolutely staggering. How about Suggs or one of the music types who frequented this place during the punk years get together and buy this piece of Londons music past

This pub had its ups and downs over the years, despite a few run ins with the staff over their customer service i couldnt help but keep going back.

Last year saw a refit come along, with plenty of toilets and longer opening hours.

Unfortunatly a hideous paint job and unnessesary name change on the exterior, along witha giant poster of pete doherty also appeared.

However Sundays were excellent there, but unfortunatly it would appear they broke the bank, there's me and two friends thinking of going into the castle for a pint only to discover it has been turned into a hippies clothes shop.

A clothes shop with about 20 toilets in it.

Who is to blame?

The manager?
The landlords?

or the freeloaders who came in on sundays to listen to the superb music and wouldnt buy a single drink.

A very very sad day for camden indeed.
