In there tonight good jazz band playing.. Very poor service though, its hard to get served with the bar staff occupied flirting with the customers. Need to get some staff who don't think they are the stars of the show.. CONDEX - 9 Dec 2011 23:18
Spacious, though I prefer the Two Towers down the road. glenfarg - 11 Nov 2011 01:34
One of my favourite pubs - friendly stuff, good prices and nice atmosphere. The garden has just been redone too and looks great! elenita_vere - 18 Jul 2011 14:59
This is one of the last "normal" boozers in an area awash with stripped wood floors and mood music. I love it. Heavy irish contingent usually in with Gaelic sports and football being shown, charmingly grotty little beer garden as well. It's also one of the cheapest pubs I have been to in ages plus some of the entertainment stuff they put on - last week it was a country and western band and a jerk chicken bbq in the garden. amusing. oldjg1 - 19 Jun 2011 13:04
Unfortunately the much lauded landlord was absent during my visit and I had to endure a curt barman who needs to learn some manners. That pub itself is nice enough with a plasma screen that was showing football and I also heard some table tennis being played in the back room. There is a fire in the bar area with some sofas placed around it that would be good as the weather turns for winter. I was glad to find some covered seating in the nice sized beer garden out the back as it was raining heavily, although there were some die hards sitting in the pouring rain which confused me a little. Pride was the only ale offering and there is only a standard draught selection, but my Guinness was on good form. It’s a shame that I had to endure the rude service as I would have marked this pub much more favourably. Strongers - 11 Nov 2009 12:37
