Went into the pub again and enjoyed eclectic music especially as the volume was correct for people to bump gums or listen. It was a quiet Sunday and the food my pal had hit the spot.

The beer was in superb condition and challenges the Beehive locally in a forest of poor pints in and around Feltham.

Choice of Spitfire, Abbot and Directors is arguably conservative (as is Old Speckled Hen) and if 3 ales are on and in such good condition arguably maybe 1 less premium dark brown and try maybe a golden ale (not a big deal a nice to have).

Anyway pub is on my radar again. Rating upped.

BTW keep_hatton_alive I think you confuse my earlier comment with an incident with some other clown - I am in the English say nothing and take note for future camp. My complaint was the silly volume on a quiet afternoon when people want to chat. Music is fine.

Are you selling the pub by making your confrontations sound so common and boasting? If pub is a private preserve of some local Hatton people and you don't want us there just say.

Local beer for local people?

with respect to the music, i have been drinking in the pub for 18 years and can quite happily say that your taste in music is quite diverse and sometimes offensive when people are trying to enjoy a meal, which if you are a regular you will accept that this is becoming a very big part of what the pub is trying to achieve! whilst i myself have a varying taste in music , it is also nice to hear people say that they have memories of the pub and how fond they were of it, without you coming on here and blowing them out of the water with your single minded comments!
for all people out there wanting to vist the pub, it is great, the staff are great and the land lady is superb!

The eclectic music was mine. I find a mixture of Marilyn Manson, Slipknot and AC/DC relaxing. I’m not alone in my taste either at this bar nor at the various other pubs I visit.
We found your choice of venue for a business meeting rather obtuse. If you need a quiet environment to have a staff meeting then book a hotel meeting room Mr Cheap Skate.
It was clear who put the music on the Juke box, as when you complained, all 18 ½ stone of me was standing clearly in view, dressed in a Heavy Rock T-shirt and Black Jeans. I’m sure that if you made you views know to me at the time we could have had a discussion on the subject of music. I’m sure the result would have made an excellent script for a new episode of The Office.

Visited this pub after 10 years of not and with BA's evacuation of the East base it was quieter, which was good.

Better still unlike 10 years ago when if you got a good pint you'd take it back as something was obviously wrong the pint of Old Speckled Hen we got was very good - and that seemed to be part of a plan.

Only down side was the quiet was shattered by loudish and eclectic choice of music which I can only assume as most people were small groups chatting that was the staff relieving their boredom - self indulgence knocks a pub down I am afraid.
