| I always visit this pub while in York, but although it is a friendly pub it always seems quiet. Hardly anyone in and due to its size there was a cold feel to it. Had Old Bear Estivator and Wylam Northern Kite. The Old Bear was not at its best and I wondered whether there is a large enough clientelle to keep the large range of ales moving. Won't stop me popping in though. They are holding a party for New Year's Eve and I reckon it would be seen at its best then. gillhalfpint - 27 Dec 2009 10:04 |
| This pub is well worth seeking out, although really it is only a short walk off a main town centre road. It was very quiet when we popped in - 3pm on a Thursday afternoon but there was an interesting range of beers on and the one I tried was superb. The honey roasted peanuts were very nice too.
