Sam Smiths pub not far from Warwick Road tube. All keg beers and served in plastic glasses yesterday, presumably because there was a cricket match on at nearby Lords. The interior is fairly pleasant and traditional with columns and a high ceiling. Prices are good, as you would expect from a Sam Smiths establishment. blue_scrumpy - 10 Jun 2011 17:13
Had lunch here while at Lords a few weeks ago. As per usual with a Sam Smiths pub, pricewise with the drinks you can't argue. My only problem is that they don't serve Old Brewary Bitter on handpump here. Is so much better served that way. We also had lunch. Food provided by the Thai kitchen. It was about £7 for two courses. Had prawn toast and a Pad Thai (chicken noodles). Was really nice, good food which set us up for the remainder of the day at the cricket. Nice patio out the back and a few seats and chairs on the street at the front for people watching. rwjc22 - 9 May 2011 15:02
We went to this pub after going to the Warrington around the corner. And after that experience this was a welcome contrast. I enjoyed the Sam Smiths beer because it had been a while - and the price per pint was fantastic. There was a cozy atmosphere - there were people reading the paper, people playing chess and people quietly chatting amongst themselves or with the lady behind the bar. We then went upstairs for Thai and had a faultless meal! Will definitely return if we're in the neighbourhood again. The_Real_Alestralian - 10 Jan 2011 13:37
Watching the recent test we went there at lunch- the beer (Sam Smiths bitter) was £1.95 a pint (£2.80 for Marstons at Lords), which seemed rather good value. Went back in the evening and it was a sea of yellow (someone must have told the Aussies the price). Friendly, helpful staff firtles - 22 Jul 2009 13:04
Oh because i've had a few emails tonight I meant a pub called the Windsor Castle not the place where the Duke of Edinburgh lives in Windsor beatles38 - 21 Jul 2009 23:30
