Lee Rivers will be appearing in a tribute to Elvis Presley tonight at 8pm in the upstairs function room - entry £2. I saw him a few months ago and he was very entertaining. Also Fever karaoke often now do Saturday nights, meaning that you can join in with their superior quality sound system and songbook 2 nights, rather than just on Sundays. Fever host Andrew T (Feverman) also does a monthly quiz night here which I enjoy. The next one is on Wednesday November 23rd. £1 entry (max 4 quizzers in a team) and the winning team gets the money in the pot! Great night out! glenfarg - 11 Nov 2011 01:14
Youngian - try the Guinness. It's generally good. glenfarg - 11 Nov 2011 01:04
Enjoyed the hapless karoke and some friendly faces for someone who is new in the area. The huge smoking area, under a railway arch, does smell a bit of damp and mould. By the taste of the badly kept bitter I think that it is where they have been storing it. youngian - 19 Jul 2011 13:44
Still going strong, despite the worst recession in living memory (except the last one). Yes, there are still some dodgy characters, but that is mostly what they are - characters. It's what every good locals' local needs, and makes for a really good atmosphere. The Karaoke still happens every Saturday and Sunday, with occasional disco/singers on Fridays, and a Quiz on a Wednesday once a month. Watch out also for special events (like the Burns night celebration on Tues 25th Jan!). Give the pub a chance - and that's what the locals will do for you. Have an attitude, and yes, I'm sure you'll get a hostile reception. (I notice Tonyjo never came back!) Feverman - 20 Jan 2011 14:31
I used to love going in this pub, back in the day when Joyce, Julia and Jamie were behind the bar. Loads of dodgy characters but a great night out for sure. Must get back in soon. Penge_BFC - 2 Mar 2010 01:13
