Gosh. Have not looked on here for a while and can't believe what's being said about the CASK.

I don't have an axe to grind for the Mitre, Cask or Harp - I actually think they're all great. But as long as you like good beer, it can be a question of which pub suits you on the night.

I've been in the CASK and the Mitre enough times for the respective landlords to recognise and chat with me, and I find them both welcoming and pleasant.

Sometimes you can pick a pub because it's handy for your ongoing transport and the CASK suits people heading south via Victoria. What I will say about the CASK (which I'm sure I've said before) is it's a great place for a meeting/chat with 6 or 8 people. I've organised two separate group meetings in there (one just last week) and each group have raved about it afterwards and said we must go there again. I popped in the other night on the way somewhere else and in the corner was someone I recognised - "I love this place" he said, "and had to come in after a nearby meeting".

As one of my other friends drank a pint of Thornbridge Wild Swan last week he said: "You won't get a better pint than this in central London".

So I think it's a great pub, but then I also think the Mitre is a great pub. The Harp is also obviously really popular, as I have never had quite enough room to breathe in there. Can't we like them all?

Have previosuly reviewed this pub and my opinion has not changed, and i am,little surprised by all the assasins out to get this place over last few days....still I come here as often as is humanly possible because of the magnificant beer...

I think this pub belongs in a very small select group containing the best pubs in London because of the unusual range of beers, the wide choice and the fact that more often than not they have ales on that i havent tried before; i think they edge it and are Londons best.

It also helps that i dont have to stand next to anyone glugging Stella or Strongbow while i sample a well kept pint because they dont sell any of that crap. How many evenings in a good pub are ruinned because of the pissed up idiots in suits drinking Stella, CASK have dealt with that problem, they just dont sell any mass produced piss water.

London has pubs serving a great range of beer, the Wenlock, Old Fountain, The Carpenters arms, The Harp, Bree Louise, the Priory arms but i think if the choice is about the beer and for me it is and for others its not, the CASK edges ahead of these pubs and is best, because the beer is never anything but perfect and the choice so unusual, absolutely no staple big brewers beers, everything small and unusual.

What I like about the Cask:
•The beer is well looked after, treated with passion love and respect
•The customers are well looked after, also treated with love and respect
•The food is well cooked and well served
and many other things......

Called in the other day to see what all the fuss was about and found the beer very good the couple we tasted were crisp clear and glugable.
The pub its self was to my mind very plastic and not my cup of tea but thats my take on it. 7/10
As for all the comments I have to say most should be over at the forum and not here.
Fairness you must have a vested interest in this pub as you dont seem to drink anywhere else get out more ol chap its not good for the blood pressure.

I thought this was the point of BITE; to give pubs reviews that may be of assistance to other people. And if I prefer other pubs to the Cask I should be entitled to say so. Shouldn't I? As for 'fairness on BITE'; you need to switch your caps lock off and take a moment to calm down, you're creeping everyone out...
