This pub is under new management, according to the sign outside, which would explain why it's no longer in the GBG. Only one beer on, London Pride, which was well kept. The menu looked good, and the new people seemed friendly enough. A bit of a scruffy place though - a top priority should be a new carpet!

A bit sad this one. We visited last week so out of season, so very quiet. The locals in the bar were friendly and the staff very good, limited ales. Menu looked good with plenty of fish, and the place is dog friendly. Other reviews highlighted the slots and curry nights advertised, but it's difficult not to compromise and try and get money in in current circumstances. The people in there are trying.

We came here with great hope, not to gamble.

Two handpumps ,one of which was reversed , so minus marks and no sign of the 3rd handpump promised in the GBG .

The one beer offered was Heacham Gold at £3.00, expensive for the area. Beer
in reasonable and drinkable condition.I gave up counting the surrounding gaming machines.

This had the feel of drinking in an amusement arcade.

No amusement for us.On this showing it does not deserve its place in the 2010 GBG.

Verdict: If visiting this area make the effort to go to the Fox and Hounds in Heacham for a totally different experience

Just stayed here, seeing as the sun was shinning and the beach full with people I was suprised to see that it was not very busy. Had a couple of pints (Fosters £3) in the afternoon but then went out so did not catch the band that was playing, I got back in around 12.30pm and found little or no trace of a band or people had been there. Twin room was big and clean with the obligatory tea and coffee making stuff, bed was lumpy but the view was very nice. Breakfast was ok. The staff were freindly so overall for £65 for a large twin room (1 single & 1 double) with breaky included I would say it was very good value for money.

I've stayed here a couple of nights this year: perfectly adequate if a bit scruffy. This time they'd got me booked in for the following week, but fortunately there was a room available. Breakfast okay - typical "full English". Seems to specialize in "Steak Nights" and "Curry Nights" etc. Didn't eat here PM - went to an excellent little Bistro nearby!

Looks like there's some work going on at the moment - so it may smarten up a bit.
