A lovely exterior on one of Hull's most comely streets, this one room bar ia a pleasant place to kickstart a crawl of the East Riding city. Friendly service and a well preserved pint of golden ale added to the mood. A good antidote to a particularly horrendous looking Wetherspoon's down the street. BoehmBawerk - 25 May 2012 07:05
It was a Saturday night and this part of Hull is thronged with drinkers and pub-crawlers so we expected The George to be busy which it was. Beer was fine and the buidling is lovely (great name for a street too!!) However, I will now have to visit the doctor to have my ears checked as the music was so loud you could have heard it back in Berkshire!! Why,oh,why do they have to do this - nice pub good beer, good company ruined by blaring inane musak. We downed out pints quickly and the girls left theirs just to get out of the place. Having said that I am sure that this is a terrific place on a quieter occassion! It was so full and so loud we did not really get a chance to appreciate it. So if we are ever in Hull again..... mcroyal - 29 Aug 2011 11:11
Nice, friendly, welcoming boozer with great ales and old rosie cider. Cyder_Mike - 5 Dec 2010 14:31
Nice old building housing a fairly basic boozer. It's not classy, but the food is cheap and good value, though beer nothing special. Worth a pit stop. mafting - 23 Sep 2010 23:18
Nice traditional pub with good choice of real ales. The Tribute from St Austell Brewery in top form. Juke box played plenty of 80's stuff which was fine. willesden_seadog - 11 Jan 2010 20:14
