| Great little pub on the green in a quintessentially english village. Nice buzz to the place very friendly. Very small but appears to have a large garden for the summer. Beer in excellent condition. Friends in the village consider it to be the best pub in the village now it has new management. pubman56 - 30 Dec 2011 12:17 |
| Posted by my Wife. We had our annual Christmas lunch at The Boot last Friday, a party of 7 very fussy ladies some of whom will complain about the slightest little thing. All were silence apart from praise for the food, service and atmosphere. When we left the other 6 all thanked me for organising the lunch and what a great meal it had been plus many more comments. | A suggestion to BITE, this establishment is so improved that the ratings before November 2010 are now of no consequence and are somewhat detrimental to what Nick and Zoe have achieved and like the earlier postings should be removed with the ratings allowed a fresh start from December 1st 2010. Before anyone asks or thinks, my only connection with The Boot is as a satisfied customer who always votes with his feet and is not afraid to tell any management if they are rubbish and offering a poor service and/or food. | Having re-opened as a proper Pub in October 2010 after a disastrous few years when the locals were banned if they dared to comment on the very poor service and even poorer food and cleanliness. The Boot under Zoe and Nick the Chef has jumped forward on all fronts. Zoe's bar staff are all without exception attentive, helpful and efficient creating the right atmosphere for the excellent FRESH food from Nick's kitchen where "boil in the bag" rubbish has no place and he is one of the few people in a pub kitchen who is worthy of the title CHEF. The beer offerred is always in excellent condition and the wine selection is interesting and good. My wife and I are more than happy to drive the 12 miles each way for a good well cooked meal that is compatible with Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir delights. buggeredeggs - 2 Nov 2011 09:03 |
