user reviews of Pentre Arms Hotel, Llandysul

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Quite possibly the best pub in the world. It's location is second to none, real ales are perfectly kept with the number available reflecting the season hence the quality and freshness. Superb food as can be said for all the village as competition drives up the quality. Extensive food menu with fabulous steaks, reasonable prices and fresh fish as available. Also has rooms to let at reasonable prices and proper breakfasts cooked to order. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble here and the live bands throughout the summer suits the locals and visitors alike. The Beach Boys night is legendary and The Village Fireworks display the same. This pub should be kept a secret but I am of too generous a disposition not to share it with you all. A must visit.

Fourth pub on our Ceredigion crawl. Evan Evans Cwrw & St Austell Tribute were on. Stowford Press was the cider. It's a typical seaside pub with a front window overlooking the beach and bay at Llangrannog. There are also seats outside if the weather behaves. I have to say that I preferred the Ship at the other side of the car park, which had 2 Purple Moose beers and a selection of Gwynt y Ddraig ciders. Also for a sea view, you'll find the Ship at Tresaith difficult to trump. A nice enough pub. Although not sure if the barman here was trying to fiddle me by giving me an old 5p piece instead of a 10p for change. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Still short of beer again this Easter Monday but much improved selection when available. Good food and the new management are making improvements all round, very good menu.

Pub in a beautiful location, but only one real ale on tap when I visited, which was served a bit on the cold side. Had a sandwich snack, which was very poor quality and overpriced.

Ran out of beer after Easter Monday, BUT they had some samples of a really good Tipsy Tup bottled pale ale, Cwm Deri Estate. Unfortunately not free samples.
