This was a half decent boozer in the first few years of its existence. I remember the manager politely informing a customer that it was an "ale house" when he was asked for an alcopop. Unfortunately times have changed and there is now only one real ale amongst a host of lagers and yes ... alcopops. It also had a nice atmosphere with a good range of ages and different "types" but this too has changed for the worse. Not intimidating but certainly not as relaxed as it was. It is a shame it has gradually succumbed to the mass market. Invisible_Rabbit - 29 Jul 2008 21:08
Letchworth's vertical drinking establishment. The food is low quality chain pub grub. Suffers from poor service. zoomy - 3 Apr 2008 12:06

Letchworth is probably the worst town to go out in Britain as there are so few pubs. This pub does nothing to enhance Letchworth but is handily near the train station so you can travel to a town with a decent choice of drinking holes. pieeater443 - 15 Dec 2007 23:08
Good and food and service during the day. Great place for a weekday lunchime. But gets too crowded on Friday/Saturday evenings when the service is awful. Best to avoid during football matches. tangocatt - 20 Apr 2007 15:09
