Has seen a few changes here and stopped from time to time but never felt anything was above average..
Lots of space inside and fair car park.
Last occasion our driver was charged £3.00 for a lemonade and lime
so allow for this in your budget.

This Greene King pub occupies a rather splendid old building, especially the main weatherborded section. Inside, there is plenty of ancient timberwork in the side seating area to the left of the door, front bar (with pool table) and cosy main bar. There is also a dining room beyond and a decent beer garden out back. Good value bar food menu. Three handpumps plus one of those gimmicky new IPA dispensers. Decent pint of Abbot at £3.10.

I'd heard good reports of this place, which I hadn't visited for some time - so called in the other day. I can't believe how different it was from my memories of it - and much nicer. It's deceptively roomy inside, with several different drinking areas, and a sizeable restaurant at the end. The main bar area is cosy and traditional, with a woodburner (still going on a cool late April evening). Nice homely feel, with plenty of locals round the bar, but not unwelcoming.
The beer is Greene King, which won't please everybody, but I'm very happy with a well-kept pint of IPA - which this was. Didn't sample the food, but it looked OK, and seems remarkably good value.
Altogether, somewhere I shall be visiting again before too long.

This pub without a doubt has to be one of the friendliest pubs in this area. The meals we had (and there where twelve of us)where all delicious, there was a bit of a wait for the food but we where advised of this as all the food is cooked fresh for each order and there already lots of people there eating (in the resturant, bar area and the beautiful garden),while we where waiting the gents had a few games of pool on the FREE pool table and we where able to relax around the log fire.A fantastic afternoon was spent in this very friendly pub, with extremely friendly and proffessional staff and fantastic food.We will deffinately be back again and would reccomend this lovely place to anyone.

Intrigued by LDW's reports (we obviously drink on the same circuit, LDW!) I popped in here the other day for a midweek pint and sandwich. Many good things: nice building; made the best of a decent little garden; dog friendly; pool table; well kept beer; EXCELLENT (and I mean excellent) home made soup; reasonable (ish - rather plastic ham) sarnies; lots of footpaths. So well worth a visit and I will definitely go back. Some not quite so inspiring things: Greene King only (so only Abbot and IPA on pump, fine for me me because I like IPA but Suffolk ales in Kent ... pffft); and some of the most clueless bar staff I have encountered this side of the Special Bus! But overall I liked it and it was a solid 7. Whether the staff could cope with a crowd on a Sunday lunch is another matter ...
