I have been to this pub on several occasions with my brother.
We are new to this area and this was one of the first pubs we tried.
Bar staff very helpful and polite. On the several visits we have made, the food has been good (especially steak pie)and the pub always clean and tidy.
Our last visit was embarressing, not only for us but the regulars and barmaid looked shocked at the owners comments.
We arrived around 3pm on Sunday and was helped inside by a regular as our baby buggy did not fit through the door. Once inside we made our way to our usual place and were just about to sit when an elderly lady approached us. She asked us if we could move our buggy & baby to the other side of the wooden barrier that separates the areas. There was noone else in this area as it was 3pm only a few regulars at the bar.
It seemed an odd request as the place was so quiet but we moved to another part of the pub after asking the barmaid if it was ok to sit at the front. She said yes, sit where you like, its fine.
Upon sitting, the elderley lady approached us again from behind the bar and asked if we could move back to the original place, as we were blocking the jukebox. She said that we could sit down and put our buggy the other side of the wooden barrier. I explained that I didnt want to leave our newborne baby the other side of the barrier and she then asked us to go somewhere else and what was the problem.
My wife and baby left and I told the lady her service sucks.
Otherwise a good pub, just dont bring kids as the owner hates them, even though she has three of her own.

Quite a few people usually hand around the outside of this pub which can be very intimidating most of the time
