Lovely little place with a stream running through the garden. But this is very much now a restaurant. We did stop for just a drink. But sitting at tables only made up for diners feels a little uncomfortable. Butcombe Original & Otter Bitter were the ales. 5/10 for it being such a lovely building in a glorious location.

It isn't "a pub" any more. it's a "former pub that's turned into a restaurant". Having said that, the restaurant isn't half bad. At least it's still open, which is more than I can say for many local places. (RIP.) Having eaten here, I can say that it is a fairly good "Gastro-Pub" with all of the locally-sourced food, etc. Yet I still miss the old "pub" that I could stop by for a decent pint and no food aside from (perhaps) the odd packet of crisps. 6/10 as a "pub", 8/10 as a "Gastro-pub".

Fantastic dining venue. Lovely building with super food and excellent staff. Great beers and wines too! Thoroughly recommended.

15th century thatched Inn. A warm & welcoming atmosphere but sadly no longer really a pub as there isnt anywhere for drinkers to sit. Extended in last couple of years with impressive Gothic eating area and nice beer garden. Landlord is friendly and very accommodating. 3 real ales: Butcombe (a bit endy) Ringwood Best, & Butts Barbus Barbus. Food is nouveau, tasty, but small portions and therefore expensive for what it is, but worth a visit for a special occasion meal. Pub is actually in Wilts but postal address is Dorset.
