Was not expecting great things from this foodie pub. I was in for just a drink but to my surprise it had to ales on the go - Snowy Owl from Northern 4.1% and some xmas ales from another localish supplier (think it was Weetwood) @3.7%. Perhaps these were just on for xmas as it had one of those 'modern' Bombardier ale dispensers which I presume the xmas ale had temporarily replaced. Had 2 pints of the Snow Owl but as like the beer in the Ring o Bells up the road it was unsatisfying - no bite.

Hi. As I had a chance to see and understand "Walton Arms"(WA4 6TG Warrington ) from inside (fortunately for me not as a customer), I dare to say that knowledge of health&safety is an absolute ZERO; level of hygiene is disgraceful. There is a lack of basic cleaning products, such as kitchen roll(kitchen roll dispensers most of the time are empty!!), sanitisers and disinfectants (if present) are seriously misused(D2 for washing the kitchen and dining area floors, cleaning the kitchen work tops, washing dishes ; D10 is used for the same purposes).
Food is kept in plastic(white and translucent) containers(some of them are lying in the bin area outside the pub and then, without washing, are used for preparing food), the same containers staff is using quite often as a bin as a result of the lack of bin bags.As the food preparation for the weekend is in process, boxes of meat lying around on the dirty floor as well as containers with veg. Maybe one or two chefs wear chefs hats, they use the same dirty clothes(which sometimes are kept together with mop heads ) for wiping hands, dishes, work tops, plates and so on.. Dirty oil is used in process of preparing rosted potatoes, yorkshire puddings ,etc.
green chopping boards(designated for veg.)are used for meat and other products (raw fish, etc.) and other kinds of chopping boards are misused too;red handed knifes used for vegetable, ect.
I have not seen a single chef washing his hands at ANY time (even after toilet); the state of staff toilet and changing area is absolutely scandalous!!
and so on,so on,so on...
All this equals food contamination.
And if anyone complains, that his food looks like it has been microwaved, most likely it has. 95%of food in Walton Arms is microwaved
After such an experience I wouldn't put my own health at risk by eating there and wouldn't recommend it to anybody .

Really nice looking pub and nicely decorated, but unfortunatley it stops there, I visited at around 5:30 on a Sunday evening fully expecting it to be busy and it was but there was a couple of tables free and as this Pub offers a self serve carvery there should be no problems....We were greeted by a very flustered looking waiter who marched us to our table and then basically just walked off! We sat there for 30 minutes without being asked what we would like to order or even offered a drink...we felt like unwanted guests at a party, we then stood up to leave and still when a waiter looked at us leaving they did not say anything to us!
I would definatley stay away at peak times, rude, ignorant and unproffesional

The menu for this pub makes everything sound fantastic, however the food is unbelievably bad. My starter looked like it had been made for a week and rewarmed in a microwave. My main meal was "Pan fried chicken breast stuffed with goats cheese and sun dried tomatos". The chicken had never seen a pan and we reckon had been microwaved or boiled in a bag and although there was a slight taste of goats cheese there wasn't any sign of any. The sun dried tomatos turned out to be a tiny piece of ordinary garden tomato. The very small extra portion of chips were luke warm and limp and again we reckon reheated in a microwave. I passed on the dessert and instead went for a Tia Maria coffee which appeared to be coffee made near a bottle of Tia Maria. The place has been refurbished nicely but unless the food improves greatly people are only going to eat there once.
