oh, and its full of teenage drinkers, if you like that sort of thing! ilovedrinking - 27 Dec 2011 13:22
pub looks good, shame they never seem to have more than 1 or 2 real ales on, dont know why, maybe they just dont sell much...... they are also advertising local produce..... i had a look at their menu, and i can only assume they mean the local cash & carry! ilovedrinking - 27 Dec 2011 12:27
Under new ownership (again). Seem friendly - certainly a very active Facebook page! Beer and general ambience good. Unfortunately the pretty rubbish-for-veggies menu has carried over to new owners so we'll drink there but not eat. Joffee - 8 Oct 2011 12:20
Has anyone been here since Christmas Day 2010? IMG1975 - 21 Jul 2011 15:56
I went to the Amble Inn with my partner on Xmas day 2010 for a Xmas dinner. The atmosphere was ok, it was kind of quiet in there but the person behind the bar was pleasant. However, the food was absolutely awful. We paid £50 each for the dinner but it was hardly worth £10 each. The potatoes were so overcooked, black in colour and hard that we could not even cut them in half (that's probably why we were given steak knives and why the potatoes were covered in so much gravy and hidden underneath the turkey) the vegetables were very very soft and did not taste fresh (tasted like they were cooked the previous day and just warmed up in the microwave), there were no Yorkshire puddings and the only bit that was edible was the turkey. We chose rhubarb crumble for pudding. It was not sweet at all, it lacked crispiness and sweetness. You could describe it as sour and soggy. I emailed and wrote to the pub but to my disappointment did not get a reply to either. Guys, if I was you I would not bother! A decent pub would at least reply to your emails and letters and apologise. Disappointing!!! aya123 - 20 Feb 2011 20:15
