This place used to be pretty grim before the overhaul earlier this year. It's now much improved, with decent beer and a good atmosphere on the night we were there (a Friday). Had live music and a mixture of punters huddling inside as the snow was falling heavily outside. Not the best pub in Stow - the Talbot is more 'happening', the Queens is more traditional - but worth a visit. TGD - 16 Dec 2010 13:53
We ate here yesterday, apparently the pub has been under new management since May 2010. Good selection of beers, and the new chef served us some of the best food I've had for ages. The menu seems aimed at people who really like their food, everything was cooked from scratch, and easily gets into my top five meals ever. The service was relaxed and friendly, not a youth insight. Would definitely come here again. AlbertCoates - 28 May 2010 00:03
2 of us stopped in on Market day. Quiet place typical pub/inn. Just had a picnic so didn't eat. richardo - 1 Oct 2009 20:15
This pub is the pits. The food was some of the worst pub grub i have ever had, it was overcooked, overpriced, small portions and poorly presented, i waited ages for it and then had to request gravy and wait again. I have had far better school dinners than this, when i complained the cook came out from the kitchen said no one else complains, refused a refund then told me to leave. Also a poor choice beer and the decor is awful. This pub does not fit in the lovely town of Stow. Do yourself a favour when visiting and use any other pub there but steer well clear of this one as it one of the worst i have ever been in. samlpal - 29 Oct 2008 13:15
A very lively pub, the sole venue for the youth of Stow, shame about the Wye Valley quality. mtaylor40 - 23 Jul 2008 20:28
