user reviews of the Hampton, Walworth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This place has five hand pumps but during my visit three were unused and the Pride was off leaving only Pedigree. There is a decent standard draught selection though and my Guinness was well served by the polite barmaid. The pub is split into two sections with the public bar housing a TV that was showing Sky Sports News and a dartboard with the oche strangely running across the front of a projector screen that was showing a Champions League game on Sky. The larger L-shaped main bar has a traditional feel although it has seen better days. There is another small TV in here and also another projector screen situated above a nice fireplace.

This place is not really worth seeking out, but I would use it to watch the football if I lived locally.

Large Victorian pub with island bar, etched glass and wood panelling. Fixtures and fittings worn but adds to character. Good mix of regulars - cops, Council workers and a few who are progressing well towards oblivion at local Spoons. Sadly had 5 handpumps but only 1 in use on my visit. Marstons Pedigree OK but tasted thin. Good selection of bar snacks, meals and specials at reasonable prices. If beer selection was improved might visit again.

Been in this pub a few times when in the area, the locals are a laugh ,russell telling his jokes at bar the most nights!(Reckons he,s only drinking water these days though)...yeah right!!!!. ,good selection of beers on offer and sky tv showing live football and horse racing...watch out for liz the land lady she,s a double for victoria beckham ,hence the reason they call her (posh)....
