| Now closed. I know the past and present owners, and many of the past managers, and I drank there a lot up until its refurbishment 2ish years ago. I have to agree with the previous poster - they built flats on top of the pub, turned a (fairly) thriving local into a cavernous warehouse, with rubbish staff and beers (no ale on tap!), and then closed it down. Surprise, surprise. Expect to see it completely turned into flats by the end of the year. Interested punters should try to block any planning permission they apply for, but I don't think they've taken much notice of this in the past... HackneyBadger - 10 Sep 2007 15:30 |
| Plainly terrible. Poor selection of beer, badly kept. Have been three times and have experienced poor service in an empty bar each time. This place must be a front. Purchased for �1m and after extensive development it sits permanently deserted. At 8pm on a Friday a few weeks ago they ran out of vodka, the barmaid returned from the shop opposite with a single 70cl bottle. There is a large covered area for smokers at the back where the staff sit smoking weed. The new owners have taken the busy, successful Madigan�s and turned into the empty, poorly run Amp.
